August 9 Today we took a trip to the ancient temple complex at My Son. These tower temples served as the seat of the Champa Kingdom for almost 900 years. The sanctuary is surrounded by hills but was bombed extensively during the Vietnam War. In the late afternoon we flew to Ho Chi Minh City and checked into the Rex Hotel. It is very nice and we again have 2 rooms. We probably could have made do with 1 room because it is very spacious and there is a king size bed and a twin bed but they only allow 2 adults and 1 child and Zach is now considered an adult. Dinner wasn't until 8:30pm and Sean was too tired to go so I stayed behind with him and we were asleep by 9pm. The heat is making us all very tired.
